Disciplinary Report: Apertura 2017 Week 16

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended one player and completed an investigation in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 16 games.

The lone suspension goes to Diego Valdés of Monarcas Morelia, who will miss La Monarquía’s final regular-season game for a lack of respect towards the match officials.

Additionally, the Disciplinary Committee finished the investigation into América coach Miguel Herrera that they began after the Águilas’ Jornada 15 game against Monterrey.

The Committee fined Herrera 150,980 pesos (about $7,929 U.S.) for violating “the principles contained in the FMF Code of Ethics, as well as the Declaration of Fair Play and Sporting Ethics” after it was determined he made an obscene gesture at the crowd.
