The Tuzos took control of the game early. In the fourth minute, Jonathan Urretaviscaya sent the ball into the box and Omar González headed it past the keeper to make it 1-0 for the hosts.
Pachuca continued to control possession after that early goal, and in the 20th minute they found their second. Urretaviscaya sent in a free kick from the left of the box and Víctor Guzmán headed it in to make it 2-0.
Atlante was unable to react and barely troubled Alfonso Blanco in goal.
In the second half, Pachuca pushed forward and they came close to a third goal on a number of occasions, while Atlante continued to struggle to get a foothold in the game.
In the end, it was a comfortable victory for the Tuzos, who will now play in their first-ever Copa MX final.
With the 2-0 win, Pachuca advances to the final to face Monterrey while Atlante is eliminated.
