2018 World Cup Draw: Mexico in Group F

The draw for the 2018 World Cup in Russia was held this Friday, with Mexico being placed into Group F.

El Tri will face Germany, Sweden, and South Korea.

Mexico will open their World Cup campaign against the reigning champions Germany on June 17th before facing South Korea on the 23rd and wrapping up group play against Sweden on the 27th.

It’s a tough group for the CONCACAF champions, and although they will still like their chances of advancing out of the group, they would likely then have to contend with Brazil in the round of sixteen.

The complete group draw is:

A: Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay
B: Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran
C: France, Austria, Peru, Denmark
D: Argentina, Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria
E: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia
F: Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea
G: Belgium, Panama, Tunisia, England
H: Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan
