Pumas UNAM vs América – 1:00 PM – Univision / Univision Deportes
Pumas UNAM (1st) beat Atlas 3-1 last weekend to remain perfect this season. The universitarios stumbled in midweek, however, where they suffered a 2-0 loss to Lobos BUAP in the Copa MX. Pumas will look to keep up their winning ways in league play, however, and keep ahold of first place while they’re at it. They have the best attacking record so far in the young season with six goals in two games and they’ll look to continue their prolific scoring here.
As for América (5th), the Águilas drew 2-2 with Pachuca last weekend to keep them unbeaten this season. They’ll look to get back to winning ways when they go back on the road for this one; they won twice as many away games as home games last season, and they’ll look to continue their good road form here. They’ll also be more rested than their opponent as they did not have a midweek game.
Santos Laguna vs Monarcas Morelia – 7:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Santos Laguna (8th) fell 2-1 to Tigres UANL last weekend to end their unbeaten start to the season. The Laguneros will look to get back to winning ways when they return home to the Estadio Corona for this one, and they did win in midweek with a 0-1 victory against Mineros in the Copa MX. Santos has one of the best attacking records in the league to date and they’ll look to keep up their goalscoring against a tough defense here.
As for Monarcas Morelia (6th), the michoacanos beat Puebla 1-0 last weekend to give them their first win and keep them unbeaten in the Clausura. They did lose in midweek, however, where they suffered a 3-1 loss to Querétaro in the Copa MX. They’ll look to get back on track in league play, where they’ve conceded just one goal to date. Morelia had the best road record in the league last season and they’ll look to continue their good away form here.
