Querétaro vs Tigres UANL – Jornada 3 Recap and Highlights

Neither team could find the breakthrough in this one as Querétaro and Tigres UANL played out a 0-0 draw. The result keeps the Gallos Blancos both winless and unbeaten at home this season, while the universitarios earned their first road point of the Clausura 2018.

Both teams looked to attack, but neither could take control of the game. Play was primarily in midfield in the first half, with neither Tiago Volpi nor Nahuel Guzmán overly busy in goal.

In the second half, Tigres began to control possession. They threatened Volpi’s goal minutes after the restart, but the keeper did well to stop a dangerous shot from Enner Valencia.

Tigres repeatedly knocked on the door in the second half, particularly after the insertion of André-Pierre Gignac, who nearly scored in the 74th. Then, in the 82nd, Juninho’s header was goal-bound, only for Volpi to intervene.

Querétaro had few chances of their own, with their best opportunity coming through Camilo Sanvezzo from a set piece, but he couldn’t find the target.

With the 0-0 draw, Querétaro and Tigres both reach four points.
