Monarcas Morelia vs Querétaro – 8:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Monarcas Morelia (14th) fell 1-0 to Santos Laguna last weekend to remain winless on the road this season. La Monarquía are perfect at home so far in the Clausura, however, and they’ll look for another victory when they return to the Estadio Morelos for this one. Morelia has found goals hard to come by this season, though, with just two goals from three games. On the other hand, they’ve also been stingy defensively, with just two goals allowed.
As for Querétaro (10th), the Gallos Blancos drew 0-0 with Tigres UANL last weekend to remain winless at home but unbeaten in two overall. They did stumble in midweek, however, with a 2-0 loss to Cimarrones in the Copa MX. Querétaro is penultimate in the relegation standings and they’ll want to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. They did win their lone league road game to date and they’ll look to repeat that in their visit to Morelia.
Tijuana vs Puebla – 10:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Tijuana (8th) drew 0-0 with Monterrey last weekend to remain unbeaten this season. The Xolos also have the best defensive record in the league after posting three consecutive clean sheets to start the Clausura. On the other hand, Tijuana has only managed to score one goal of their own. That goal came at home and they’ll look for another home victory when they return to the Estadio Caliente for this one. They’ll also be more rested than their opponent as they did not have a midweek game.
As for Puebla (4th), the Poblanos beat Veracruz 2-0 last weekend to remain perfect at home this season. They haven’t fared so well on the road, however, where they are winless to date. They’ll look to change that in this one, but the Caliente is a hard place for visitors to pick up points. Puebla was active in midweek as well where they played out a 1-1 draw with Alebrijes in the Copa MX.
