Querétaro vs Veracruz – 6:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Querétaro (14th) fell 1-0 to Monarcas Morelia to keep them winless in two. The Gallos Blancos are also winless at home this season, with a loss and a draw in La Corregidora, but they’ll look to change that here when they take on a relegation rival. Of concern for Querétaro is their goal-scoring – or lack thereof. The Gallos have been shut out in three of their four games to date. On the other hand, they’ve only allowed two goals all season.
As for Veracruz (16th), the Tiburones Rojos drew 1-1 with Santos Laguna last weekend to keep them winless in the Clausura. Veracruz is sitting at the foot of the relegation standings and needs to pick up points ASAP if they want to remain in Liga MX next season. The Tiburones Rojos did manage to score their first goal of the season last weekend, and they’ll look to build on that here.
Monterrey vs León – 8:00 PM – Univision Deportes
Monterrey (2nd) beat Chivas de Guadalajara 1-2 last weekend to keep them unbeaten this season and perfect on the road. The Rayados have yet to win at home, though, with a pair of draws in their games in the Estadio BBVA Bancomer. They’ll look to change that here, especially knowing that a win will put them at least temporarily into first place.
As for León (8th), La Fiera fell 0-4 to Necaxa last weekend to bring their unbeaten start to the season to an abrupt halt. León is now winless in two, although they remain unbeaten on the road. They’ll look to get back to winning ways against a Monterrey side that hasn’t been as dominant at home as they usually are; however, they’ll have to get back to scoring to do that. León has been shut out in back-to-back games.
Santos Laguna vs Tijuana – 8:00 PM
Santos Laguna (5th) drew 1-1 with Veracruz last weekend to keep them unbeaten in two. Santos is perfect at home as well, with two wins out of two in the Estadio Corona. They’ll look to continue that streak here, although they’ll be up against the best defense in the league in this one. Santos has scored in every game this season, though, and they’ll look to be the first to score on Tijuana.
As for Tijuana (3rd), the Xolos beat Puebla 2-0 last weekend to remain unbeaten this season. Tijuana is perfect at home, but they’re winless on the road. They’ll look to earn their first away victory when they travel to Santos for this one, but the Xolos have yet to score on the road this season. On the other hand, they’ve yet to allow a goal at all, having posted four consecutive clean sheets to start the Clausura.
Pachuca vs Monarcas Morelia – 8:06 PM – Galavision
Pachuca (13th) fell 3-2 to Tigres UANL last weekend to keep them winless on the road this season. The Tuzos will look to get back to winning ways when they return home to the Estadio Hidalgo for this one. Pachuca needs some more defensive consistency, though; they’ve allowed multiple goals in three of their four games to date, and their overall defensive record is tied for second-worst in the league. On the other hand, the Tuzos have also scored multiple goals in three of their four games and they’ve registered a league-high nine goals to date.
As for Monarcas Morelia (7th), the michoacanos beat Querétaro 1-0 last weekend to keep them perfect at home this season. They’re winless on the road, however, with a loss and a draw. Morelia has been very good defensively, with just two goals allowed this season, but they’ve also only scored three. Morelia will look to take advantage of Pachuca’s porous defense to rack up a lead in this one.
América vs Lobos BUAP – 10:00 PM – Univision Deportes
América (4th) beat Atlas 1-0 last weekend to keep them unbeaten this season. The Águilas are at home for a second straight game here, and they’ll look to make it two wins in a row against a struggling team. América has allowed just two goals this season while posting three shutouts, and they’ll look for a decisive victory against the leakiest defense in the league.
As for Lobos BUAP (17th), the licántropos drew 1-1 with Pumas UNAM to earn their first point of the season. Lobos remain winless, though, and they’ve been slipping down the relegation standings as a result. They need to shore up their defense – which has allowed 10 goals to date – if they want to start winning, which could be a tough ask away to one of the league’s unbeaten teams.
Necaxa vs Toluca – 10:00 PM – ESPN Deportes
Necaxa (12th) beat León 0-4 last weekend to earn their first victory of the season in style. The Rayos remain winless at home, with a loss and a draw, but they’ll look to change that here as they return to the Estadio Victoria with a confidence boost. They’ve struggled to score at home, though, with just one goal to date.
As for Toluca (11th), the Diablos Rojos drew 1-1 with Cruz Azul last weekend to remain unbeaten in two. Toluca has been inconsistent this season, and they’ll look to change that here by stringing together another good result. The Diablos are 1-0-1 on the road and they’ll be facing a confident team in this one.
