América vs Lobos BUAP – Jornada 5 Recap and Highlights

América remained unbeaten this season with an emphatic 5-1 victory against 10-man Lobos BUAP. The result keeps the Licántropos winless this season and stranded at the foot of the table.

América started the game off attacking and they only got more dominant after Francisco Rodríguez was shown a straight red card in the 20th minute for a bad foul on Oribe Peralta. The Águilas finally opened the scoring in the 35th minute, when Renato Ibarra sent in a corner kick for Henry Martín, who headed it home to make it 1-0.

Martín made it 2-0 ten minutes later as Cecilio Domínguez got free on the left and sent in a cross that Martín once again got his head to. He then completed his hat-trick just moments into the second half with another assist from Domínguez.

Lobos were briefly able to reduce the deficit in the 75th minute when Eduardo Tercero made it 3-1, but just minutes later the Águilas restored their three-goal cushion. In the 78th minute, Martín played in Ibarra, whose diagonal shot made it 4-1.

Jérémy Ménez put the cherry on top of América’s win with his first goal for the Águilas in the 80th minute to make it 5-1.

With the 5-1 win, América reaches 11 points while Lobos still have one.
