Santos Laguna came from behind to earn a comprehensive 5-1 victory over León. The result is a second straight win for the Laguneros, who are unbeaten in five, while La Fiera suffered their third four-goal loss in their last four games.
The game started off perfectly for the visitors, though, as León took the lead in the very first minute. Jonathan Orozco let a back-pass bounce away directly into the path of Mauro Boselli, who took advantage and sent the ball into the empty net to make it 0-1 for León.
León was unable to hold on to that early, gifted lead, however. In the 24th minute, Santos leveled the game when Osvaldo Martínez scored direct from a free kick to make it 1-1.
Then, in the 30th minute, Fernando Navarro gave up a penalty kick and Djaniny converted it to give Santos the 2-1 lead. Four minutes later, Djaniny made it 3-1 after combining well with Julio César Furch.
Djaniny completed his hat-trick in the 38th minute when he headed home a cross from Jesús Isijara to give Santos the 4-1 lead with his 10th goal of the season.
León was completely unable to react to giving up four goals in 14 minutes and Santos comfortably controlled the rest of the game.
In the second half, Santos added one more goal through Jonathan Rodríguez, who made it 5-1 in the 66th minute with his diagonal shot.
With the 5-1 win, Santos reaches 14 points while León still has 10.
