Lobos BUAP took a two-goal lead but León fought back to tie the game 2-2. The result keeps La Fiera winless in two, but unbeaten at home in four, while the Licántropos have now lost two in a row and remain winless on the road this season.
The game started out evenly, with neither team able to put their stamp on the match. Slowly, Lobos began to gain more possession, although they still lacked creativity in the final third. However, they found the breakthough in the 34th minute.
Irven Ávila played in Julián Quiñones, who headed the ball past William Yarbrough to make it 0-1 for Lobos. Quiñones made it 0-2 in the 59th minute with another header, that one assisted by Pedro Aquino.
However, that second goal sparked León into action. In the 61st minute, La Fiera reduced the deficit through Claudio González, who scored on his league debut to make it 1-2 with an assist from Luis Montes.
That goal inspired León, who continued to press in search of an equalizer. They found one in the 76th minute, when González got on the scoresheet for a second time to level the game 2-2.
León came close to completing the comeback, but Lobos were able to hold on to salvage a point.
With the 2-2 draw, León reaches 14 points while Lobos reach eight.
