Chivas de Guadalajara vs Tigres UANL – Jornada 12 Recap and Highlights

Neither team could find the breakthrough in this one as Chivas de Guadalajara and Tigres UANL played out a 0-0 draw. The result keeps Chivas winless at home this season but unbeaten in six overall, while the universitarios saw their four-game winning streak halted but remain unbeaten in seven.

The game started off at a high intensity, with both teams looking to take the lead. Rodolfo Pizarro and Isaác Brizuela looked good going forward for Chivas, but it was the visitors who had the first clear chance.

Jürgen Damm used his speed to get to the endline, where he cut the ball back for Enner Valencia, who couldn’t get enough contact on the ball to beat Rodolfo Cota. A few minutes later, Javier Aquino sent in another cross for the Ecuadorian, but this time Jair Pereira blocked it on the line.

Chivas tried their luck primarily with shots from outside the box, none of which came to fruition; José Godínez also had an attempt with a diving header following a cross from Brizuela, but the ball went wide.

In the second half, Tigres hit the woodwork as they continued to knock on the door. Aquino was forced out of the game with a muscle injury, but that substitution didn’t change anything for Tigres, who continued to control possession.

Chivas had a few late opportunities from corner kicks, but they weren’t able to trouble Nahuel Guzmán. In the end, the teams had to settle for a share of the spoils.

With the 0-0 draw, Chivas reaches 12 points while Tigres reach 22.
