Tijuana took a 2-0 lead but couldn’t hold it as Atlas came back for a 2-2 draw. The result keeps the Xolos winless in four while the Rojinegros are unbeaten in two but remain winless on the road this season.
The game started off well for the hosts, who took the lead in the 10th minute. Juan Lucero played in Miler Bolaños, who beat José Hernández to make it 1-0 for Tijuana.
Just three minutes after that, Lucero was brought down in the box by Daniel Arreola, with referee Fernando Hernández not hesitating to point to the penalty spot. Lucero himself stepped up to take the spot kick, and he converted it to make it 2-0.
Atlas made a halftime substitution as they looked to get back into the game, and Ángelo Henríquez gave the visitors a new dimension.
In the 72nd minute, Henríquez finished off a cross from Cristian Calderón to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
Five minutes later, Henríquez hit the crossbar with his shot from outside the box, with the rebound falling for Milton Caraglio, who leveled the game 2-2.
With the 2-2 draw, Tijuana reaches 18 points while Atlas reaches 11.
