León opened the scoring in the 9th minute. The hosts won a corner kick and although Pedro Aquino’s initial effort was saved by Tiago Volpi, the rebound fell for Andrés Mosquera, who made it 1-0 with his volley.
Querétaro looked to respond and Edson Puch looked dangerous, but couldn’t find the breakthrough. Then, in the 20th minute, Matías Britos saw his header hit the crossbar.
León added to their lead in the 35th minute from another set piece. Mosquera nodded the ball on for Yairo Moreno, whose header made it 2-0.
In the second half, La Fiera continued to press and in the 52nd minute they found their third goal. Maxi Cerato got through the defense and sent his left-footed shot into the corner to put León comfortably ahead.
Querétaro nevertheless kept pressing as they looked to reduce the deficit, while León sat back and contented themselves with chances on the counter. In the 70th minute, Mauro Boselli nearly made it four for the hosts, but his header hit the post.
Then, in stoppage time, Boselli found Luis Montes in the box and he made it 4-0 for León.
With the 4-0 win, León reaches four points while Querétaro still has four.
