Veracruz announced today that Guillermo Vázquez and his coaching staff have tendered their resignations, which the club has accepted.
Vázquez stated his decision to resign was due to the fact that the club owes him money; Veracruz denied that in their statement, where the club noted: “The directors of the Tiburones Rojos clarify that this decision is apart from economics, since no type of debt exists with [Vázquez] and his coaching staff”.
The statement also noted that Vázquez did not have an impressive record with Veracruz, as he leaves the club with a record of 7 wins, 5 draws, and 15 losses in his 27 games in charge in league and cup play.
Nevertheless, the club thanked Vázquez for his professionalism and wished him luck in his future projects.
Hugo Chávez, the coach of the U-17 team, will take over as interim head coach.
