Veracruz vs León – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

León scored early and often as they picked up a 0-4 away win against Veracruz. The result snaps a three-game losing streak for La Fiera while the Tiburones Rojos are now winless in four.

The night started off perfectly for the visitors, who took the lead in just the third minute. Jean Meneses scooped the ball up towards the far post and Mauro Boselli was there to had it home and make it 0-1 for León very early on.

Veracruz looked for a response but the Sharks were largely toothless in attack. León dominated the game from start to finish, but nevertheless it took them until the 64th minute to add to their lead.

Luis Montes made it 0-2 for the visitors with his low shot from just inside the box, and that second goal took what little wind there was out of Veracruz’s sails.

Walter González, who had recently entered the game, then made it 0-3 for León in the 78th minute as he beat his defender and then the keeper to put the visitors comfortably ahead.

In the closing stages of the game, José Arturo Rivas was called for a foul on Fernando Navarro in the box, and Luis Montes converted the ensuing penalty kick to make it 0-4 for León with his second goal of the night.

With the 0-4 win, León reaches 13 points while Veracruz still has eight.
