In a game where both teams had the lead at one time or another, Puebla and Lobos BUAP had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result keeps La Franja unbeaten in two but winless in three, while the Licántropos saw their two-game winning streak halted but remain unbeaten in three.
The Clásico Poblano started off without many clear chances for either side, with the ball staying largely in midfield. But shortly before halftime, Lobos took the lead. Mauro Laínez took the ball into the box and sent a low cross across the face of goal for Leonardo Ramos, who sent it home at the far post to make it 0-1 in the 39th minute.
Puebla responded minutes after the break, with Jonathan Espericueta receiving the ball just outside the box, cutting around his defender, and beating Toño Rodríguez from the top of the box to make it 1-1 in the 48th minute.
The hosts quickly built on that goal, and in the 51st minute they took the lead. Lucas Cavallini received a through ball from Omar Fernández, drove into the box, and beat Rodríguez to make it 2-1 for Puebla.
The hosts then sat back as they looked to defend their lead. It worked right up until the 80th minute, when Lobos was able to equalize. Michaell Chirinos brought down a long pass from Yago da Silva and then shot past Nicolás Vikonis to make it 2-2 late on.
Neither team was able to go on to find a third goal as the Clásico Poblano ended in a draw.
With the 2-2 draw, Puebla reaches 15 points while Lobos reach 11.
