Disciplinary Report: Apertura 2018 Week 13

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended three players in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 13 games.

Jesús Paganoni of Veracruz was given a one-game suspension for receiving two yellow cards in the same game, while Alan Mozo of Pumas UNAM was suspended one game for yellow-card accumulation after picking up his fifth caution of the season.

In addition, Rubens Sambueza of Toluca was suspended one game for violent conduct.

The Disciplinary Committee also addressed the sanction given to Gustavo Witte, the kinesiologist of Chivas de Guadalajara. Witte was sent off for a lack of respect to the match officials; however, per Article 30 of the Regulations for Sanctions, “when a member of the medical staff is ejected, they are not removed from the sidelines or suspended, in order to safeguard the players’ health”. In place of a fine and suspension, the sanction consists solely of a fine – although a steeper one.
