The 2018 FIFA Club World Cup is underway in the United Arab Emirates, and CONCACAF’s representative, Mexico’s Chivas de Guadalajara, will begin their participation this Saturday.
Chivas will face Japan’s Kashima Antlers, the AFC champions, in the quarterfinal round. Regardless of the outcome, Chivas will have at least one more game in the tournament: either advancing to the semifinals to take on UEFA champion Real Madrid or facing the loser of the other quarterfinal, between Espérance de Tunis and Al Ain, in the fifth-place match.
This is Guadalajara’s first appearance in the Club World Cup, while Kashima Antlers are participating in the tournament for the second time after previously reaching the final in the 2016 edition, where they ultimately lost to Real Madrid in extra time.
All times Eastern.
