Pachuca Parts Ways with Pako Ayesterán

Hours after Pachuca’s 3-0 loss to América, the club announced the departure of Francisco “Pako” Ayestarán as head coach.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT. Through this medium we are announcing that Professor @PakoAyestaran has ceased to be the coach of our institution. We wish him much success in his next project.

Ayestarán joined the Tuzos ahead of the Apertura 2018 season, in which Pachuca had a 6-6-5 record, finished 10th, and missed out on the playoffs.

Now, three games into the Clausura 2019, Pachuca has suffered two heavy defeats (3-0 and 5-0) and could be sitting as low as 14th by the end of the weekend, causing Ayestarán to be the first coaching casualty of the season.

Pachuca thanked Ayestarán for his professionalism and effort and wished him the best in his future projects.
