Pumas UNAM Parts Ways with David Patiño

Pumas UNAM announced the departure of head coach David Patiño following the universitarios’ Jornada 4 loss to Pachuca.

That loss left Pumas winless in the Clausura 2019, and that poor start to the season, combined with the painful way Pumas were eliminated from last season’s playoffs, ended Patiño’s stint with the club, which had started in the Apertura 2017 season.

During his time with the club, Patiño amassed a record of 23 wins, 23 losses, and 20 draws.

In an official statement, Pumas thanked Patiño for his work and dedication and wished him success in his future projects.

While Pumas has not officially announced a new coach, rumor is it will be Bruno Marioni.
