Disciplinary Report: Clausura 2019 Week 4

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended four players and a coach, upheld a red card appeal, and overturned two others in the aftermath of this weekend’s Jornada 4 games.

The Committee received three petitions of nonconformity regarding the red cards given to América’s Jorge Sánchez and Monterrey’s Avilés Hurtado and Nicolás Sánchez during the eventful game between the two sides this past Saturday.

After reviewing the incidents, the Committee upheld the petition regarding Nicolás Sánchez, clearing him to play in Monterrey’s next game, and overturned the ones regarding Jorge Sánchez and Avilés Hurtado, who were both given one-game suspensions for serious foul play.

Rodrigo López of Veracruz was also suspended for serious foul play, while Emanuel Aguilera of América was suspended for receiving two yellow cards in the same game.

Finally, Óscar Pareja, head coach of Tijuana, was given a one-game suspension for constantly protesting the referee crew’s decisions.
