After Puebla’s 1-4 loss to Necaxa on Friday, the club announced the departure of Enrique Meza as head coach in an official statement.
That loss leaves Puebla sitting 14th in the table with a 1-2-2 record and five points. They have not been performing well in the Copa MX either, where they are sitting last in their group after two losses.
Meza had taken charge of the club in the Apertura 2017 season, spending 15 months as coach. During that time, Puebla strengthened their position in the relegation standings, where they currently have a 24-point advantage over last-place Veracruz.
Puebla thanked “Profe” Meza and wished him success in his future projects.
