Lobos BUAP vs León – Jornada 10 Recap and Highlights

León moved into first place in the table with a 0-1 away win against Lobos BUAP. The result is a seventh straight win for La Fiera, while the Licántropos have now lost two of their last three.

Lobos came out attacking as they looked to put their home-field advantage to good use and move ever closer to safety from relegation. Mauro Lainez had the first chance of the game, but Rodolfo Cota made the save.

Despite the hosts’ good start, though, it was León who took the lead. In the 26th minute, Luis Montes played the ball to Fernando Navarro and continued his run into the box, where he got his head to the end of Navarro’s cross to make it 0-1 for the visitors.

After the goal, the game tilted in León’s favor, and they had several chances to add a second. They thought they had in the 53rd minute when Joel Campbell put the ball in the back of the net, but after VAR review it was determined that the ball had gone out of play in the build-up.

That disallowed goal took some of the wind out of León’s sails, and Lobos looked to seize the changing momentum. Luiz da Silva had a few opportunities for the Licántropos, but in the end they were unable to find an equalizer.

With the 0-1 win, León reaches 23 points while Lobos still have 13.
