Neither team could find the breakthrough in this one as Querétaro and Chivas de Guadalajara played out a 0-0 draw. The result keeps the Gallos Blancos winless in two and stuck at the foot of the standings, while El Rebaño remain winless in three heading into next week’s SuperClásico.
The visitors had the better of the chances throughout the game, but they couldn’t convert any of them. Diego Novaretti nearly scored an own-goal in the 13th minute as he tried to clear a Chivas free kick, but to the defender’s relief his header hit the crossbar and stayed out.
Dieter Villalpando had perhaps the best chance of the first half with his shot towards the corner, but Nicolás Navarro made an impressive save to keep the visitors off the board.
Navarro was easily the man of the match for Querétaro, with the keeper making a number of good saves to keep his side in the game. The Gallos couldn’t do anything to break the deadlock themselves, however; they had just one notable chance when Ake Loba got free and played in Marel Ruíz, but Raúl Gudiño made the save.
In the end, the two had to settle for a goalless draw, a result that will please Querétaro much more than Chivas.
With the 0-0 draw, Querétaro reaches four points while Chivas reaches 15.
