Puebla closed out Jornada 12 action with a comprehensive 0-4 away win against Lobos BUAP. The result gives La Franja back-to-back victories – and three wins in their last four – while the Licántropos remain winless in three.
The scoring started early in this regional rivalry, with Puebla taking the lead in just the 7th minute. The visitors sent a free kick into the box and the unfortunate Michael Orozco sent his attempted clearance in off the underside of the crossbar to make it 0-1 with his own-goal.
The early lead gave the visitors confidence, and they soon found the back of the net again. Brayan Angulo sent a dangerous cross into the box and Lucas Cavallini was there to bring it down and finish it off, making it 0-2 in the 17th minute.
Lobos struggled to react and in the 37th minute another own-goal sealed their fate. This time the unfortunate scorer was José Esquivel, who tried to cut out a low cross by Omar Fernández but only succeeded in redirecting it into his own net to make it 0-3 for Puebla.
There was no way back from there for Lobos, and in the second half Puebla added an exclamation point to the win when Cavallini finished off a cross from Pablo González to make it 0-4 in the 72nd minute.
Lobos had a penalty shout in the 77th minute when Vladimir Loroña appeared to bring down Michaell Chirinos in the box, but after consulting VAR referee César Ramos ruled the foul had occurred just outside the area.
With the 0-4 win, Puebla reaches 19 points while Lobos still have 14.
