Mexico’s 2019 Gold Cup Roster

With the 2019 Gold Cup fast approaching, all teams have submitted their final 23-player rosters to CONCACAF. Mexico’s original provisional squad was reduced from 29 to 27 as Miguel Layún and Hirving Lozano were ruled out due to injury; the provisional roster was then reduced to the final 23 players on June 5th.

El Tri’s roster features 15 domestic-based players, one from MLS, and seven europeos.

The complete 23-man roster is as follows:

Goalkeepers (3): Hugo González (Necaxa), Guillermo Ochoa (Standard Liège), Jonathan Orozco (Santos Laguna)

Defenders (9): Néstor Araujo (Celta Vigo), Jesús Gallardo (Monterrey), César Montes (Monterrey), Héctor Moreno (Real Sociedad), Fernando Navarro (León), Diego Reyes (Leganés), Luis Rodríguez (Tigres UANL), Carlos Salcedo (Tigres UANL), Jorge Sánchez (América)

Midfielders (7): Edson Álvarez (América), Jonathan dos Santos (LA Galaxy), Andrés Guardado (Real Betis), Erick Gutiérrez (PSV), Luis Montes (León), Orbelín Pineda (Cruz Azul), Carlos Rodríguez (Monterrey)

Forwards (4): Raúl Jiménez (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Rodolfo Pizarro (Monterrey), Alexis Vega (Chivas de Guadalajara), Roberto Alvarado (Cruz Azul)
