Following the resignation of Enrique Meza, Veracruz has named Enrique López Zarza the new coach of the struggling club.
The Tiburones Rojos are in the midst of a record-setting 34-game winless streak; they haven’t won in more than a calendar year, and have gone through five coaches in that span.
López Zarza, 61, last coached in Liga MX in 2006, when he was with Necaxa; in the interim, he had stints in the lower divisions with Pumas Morelos, Ballenas Galeana, Celaya, and, most recently, Tepatitlán de Morelos.
