León earned another lopsided win with a 2-4 away victory against Necaxa. The result is a second straight multi-goal win for La Fiera, who remain unbeaten in six, while the Rayos saw their own five-game unbeaten run halted as they suffered their first home defeat of the season.
The hosts started the game off well, but León grew into the game and soon took control of the midfield. Luis Montes had a dangerous early chance with his shot from outside the box in the 8th minute, while Necaxa had a good look in the 14th minute with a header by Mauro Quiroga.
Most of the chances went León’s way, though, and they took the lead in the 19th minute. Ismael Sosa was lurking at the back post to finish off a ball that had gone past everybody, making it 0-1 for La Fiera.
Necaxa looked to respond, but Quiroga once again sent his header into the keeper’s hands. Then, in the 27th minute, Fernando Meza saw his header hit the post as the hosts continued to press.
León held on to the lead, though, and then in the second half they added to it. In the 58th minute, Sosa scored his second of the night as he finished off a pass from Montes to make it 0-2.
Necaxa soon reduced the deficit, though, with Jesús Angulo’s shot from the top of the box making it 1-2 in the 66th minute. Then, just three minutes later, it was all square, as Quiroga won yet another header and this time put it in the back of the net to tie the game 2-2 in the 69th.
The Rayos looked to go on to take the lead, but throwing numbers forward left space at the back for León to exploit. In the 87th minute, the visitors went ahead once more, with Ángel Mena sending the ball into an empty net after Hugo González came off his line.
Deep in stoppage time, Ismael Sosa finished off his hat-trick to give León the definitive 2-4 win in the 98th minute.
