Martín Palermo Out at Pachuca

After Pachuca failed to qualify for the playoffs, the club wasted no time in announcing the departure of coach Martín Palermo. In a press release posted to the Tuzos’ twitter account, the club noted that Palermo’s contract had finished and it was decided “by mutual agreement” not to extend it.

Palermo joined Pachuca in the Clausura 2019 season, where he was in charge from week 4 onward. Pachuca finished 7th that season, qualifying for the Liguilla, but they were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.

This season, the Tuzos finished 9th, just outside the qualifying spots, despite a victory in their final game of the season.

In Palermo’s 34 total league games with Pachuca, he had a record of 14 wins, 10 draws, and 10 losses.
