Alfonso Sosa Returns to Necaxa

Necaxa parted ways with Guillermo Vázquez earlier this month after the Rayos fell to Monterrey in the Liga MX semifinals; they’ve now announced a familiar face as his replacement: Alfonso Sosa.

Professor Alfonso Sosa returns to Necaxa’s bench ahead of the Clausura 2020 season. Welcome back home, Profe!

Sosa has a storied history with Necaxa already; he won the Ascenso MX league title with them, won promotion to Liga MX, led them to a Copa MX final, and even went on a 25-game unbeaten run with the Rayos back in the 2016-17 season.

Sosa most recently was in charge of Atlético San Luis before an abrupt exit this past September.
