It didn’t take long for Guillermo Vázquez to find a new team after parting ways with Necaxa following the Rayos’ elimination from the playoffs, as Atlético San Luis confirmed his arrival as head coach on Sunday.
Welcome to your new home Guillermo Vázquez!
In the press release announcing Vázquez’s hiring, San Luis highlighted his past successes in Liga MX, noting that he won the Clausura 2011 league title with Pumas UNAM and that led Cruz Azul to a Copa MX title in 2013.
During his stint in charge of Necaxa, Vázquez led them to the playoffs in both the Clausura and Apertura 2019, although he fell short of the final. San Luis, who did not qualify for the Apertura 2019 playoffs, will hope for a change in fortunes in the upcoming Clausura 2020 season.
