Dorados de Sinaloa won the Apertura title with a 4-2 aggregate victory over Atlante, while Lobos BUAP took the Clausura title with a 4-2 aggregate victory of their own against FC Juárez.
Lobos BUAP beat FC Juárez 1-2 in Saturday’s Gran Final second leg to win the Clausura 2017 Ascenso MX title with a 4-2 aggregate victory. The victory gives Lobos not just a league title, but also a ticket to the promotion playoff against Dorados de Sinaloa for a spot in Liga MX.
Lobos had picked up a 2-1 home victory in the first leg, and they looked to hold that advantage here, while the Bravos pressed forward as they looked to tie the aggregate.
The Ascenso MX final is a two-legged affair, with Lobos hosting the first leg this Wednesday and Juárez hosting the second on Saturday.
The champion will then face Dorados de Sinaloa, the Apertura 2016 winner, for promotion to Liga MX.
Three of the four higher seeds advanced, and they were joined by sixth-seeded Lobos BUAP. Dorados de Sinaloa, the reigning Ascenso MX champions, are still in the running after beating Zacatepec in the quarterfinals.

Apertura 2016 champions Dorados de Sinaloa have qualified for the postseason again, and should they win this season’s championship as well they will earn automatic promotion to Liga MX. Otherwise, they will face this season’s winner in the promotion playoff.

The first legs of the Apertura 2016 Ascenso MX quarterfinals saw two lower seeds earn victories. All four series, however, are separated by no more than a goal, leaving everyone still in it ahead of this weekend’s decisive second legs.
Alebrijes de Oaxaca 2-1 Celaya
The visitors took the lead in the 33rd minute through Abraham Isaí Riestra, whose header found the back of the net. But Alebrijes fought back in the second half with a 49th minute equalizer from Diego Martínez. Then, in the 69th minute, Lucero Álvarez scored from the penalty spot to give 8th-seeded Oaxaca the 2-1 victory.
