New Voit Dynamo Introduced for Cancer Awareness Campaign

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and for the second year, Liga MX’s annual pink-themed campaign for breast cancer awareness is being joined by a blue-themed campaign for prostrate cancer awareness.

We present the #MovimientoAzulyRosa #Dynamo! It will be on the fields in @LigaBancomerMX and @AscensoMX in October.

To that effect, Liga MX has launched the “Campaña Azul y Rosa”, the Blue and Pink Campaign, to spread awareness of the diseases and promote self-exams and screenings.

The campaign includes a new color scheme for the Voit Dynamo, the official ball of Liga MX and the Liga de Ascenso, which will be in use in both leagues throughout the month of October.

In addition to the ball, the Blue and Pink Campaign will include captain’s armbands and referee uniforms in those colors, as well as posters next to the goals. Each game will include a statement from the captains about the campaign during the pre-game ceremonies.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Liga MX has been supporting the “Mes Rosa” awareness campaign for the past eight years.

This year, the league is also supporting prostate cancer awareness, but although the league is trying to work blue into the color scheme, with a blue-and-pink Voit Aspid ball and the team captains wearing blue and pink armbands, the main color of the month is still pink, and three teams will be debuting pink jerseys in support of breast cancer awareness.

Nike will be outfitting Atlas, Santos Laguna, and Monterrey in pink jerseys specifically designed for this month, while León, who has had a pink secondary jersey for a few seasons, will wear it both home and away in October.

Here are our #Project Pink [jerseys] with @rayados, @atlasfc and @ClubSantos supporting the fight against Breast Cancer.

Voit Aspid Gets Makeover for Cancer Awareness

voit cancerOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Liga MX has supported the pink ribbon campaign for the last eight years. The nets are dyed pink; players wear pink ribbons on their jerseys; the captains wear pink armbands; many goalkeepers wear pink gloves; signs with the “Mes Rosa” [Pink Month] logo and a slogan encouraging breast self-exams are displayed next to each goal.

This year, the league is combining the traditional pink campaign with a blue one to support prostate cancer awareness.

Beginning in Jornada 11 (September 30 – October 2) and continuing through Jornada 14 (October 24 – 26), Liga MX will use a Voit Aspid ball with a blue-and-pink color scheme; opposing captains will wear armbands in those colors, one blue and the other pink; and for the first time, the referee uniforms will also reflect the campaign’s colors.

In addition, the league will carry out an information campaign during the games, as well as encouraging self-exams for breast cancer and blood tests to screen for prostate cancer.
