Atlas 2-1 Puebla (Group 4)
Atlas kept their hopes of advancing alive with a 2-1 win over Puebla in this Group 4 game. The Poblanos are still top of the group but are now vulnerable to losing that spot. The Rojinegros went into this game winless in Copa MX play, but they took the lead in the 18th minute. Édgar Zaldívar won the ball and played in Jahir Barraza, whose diagonal shot made it 1-0.
The hosts added to their lead in the second half, when Rodolfo Salinas finished off a corner kick to make it 2-0 in the 52nd minute. Atlas looked in complete control, but Puebla made the final few minutes interesting after they reduced the deficit in the 85th minute, with the unfortunate Federico González scoring an own-goal to put the visitors on the board. However, Atlas was able to hold on to the lead and secure their first win of the competition.
With the 2-1 win, Atlas reaches four points while Puebla still has seven.
