Pending Sanctions for the Apertura 2019

A new season means a clean slate, but a few players still have unserved suspensions to be dealt with.

The Disciplinary Committee report that Andrés Mosquera, Víctor Velázquez, Vladimir Loroña, and Rodrigo Noya all have one-game suspensions earned at the end of the Clausura 2019 season to be served.

On the other hand, Atlético San Luis will have Nicolás Ibáñez available for the start of the Apertura 2019 as his suspension was earned while playing in Ascenso MX before the club earned promotion; suspensions do not carry over from one league or competition to another, but rather must be served in the competition in which they were earned.

The U.S. had a pair of great chances in the opening 10 minutes, with Christian Pulisic and Jozy Altidore combining well, but Guillermo Ochoa stopped Pulisic and Altidore couldn’t get his attempt on frame.

Mexico needed some time to get into the game but they created a few chances of their own as the half wore on. The game went to halftime goalless, but in the second 45 the game tilted decisively in Mexico’s favor.
