Monterrey vs Santos Laguna – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

Forty-five days after Monterrey and Santos Laguna played the first twelve minutes of their Jornada 11 game – which was then postponed due to weather – the Rayados and Laguneros finished the match, which ultimately ended up 1-1.

The first good chance came for Santos in the 17th minute, when Djaniny nodded on a clearance from Jonathan Orozco, which set up Jonathan Rodríguez to get into the box and shoot, but his attempt went high.

Disciplinary Report: Apertura 2017 Week 11

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended one player and one coach in the aftermath of this week’s Jornada 11 games.

Monarcas Morelia’s Gabriel Achilier was given a one-game suspension for receiving two yellow cards in the same game.

In addition, Club América coach Miguel Herrera was given a one-game suspension for a lack of respect towards the match officials.

Apertura 2017 Week 11 Statistics

Monterrey remained in first place in the table although their game vs Santos Laguna was postponed, while Puebla remained in last place after their 1-2 loss to Atlas.

Monterrey is the only unbeaten team remaining after Cruz Azul fell 4-0 to Pachuca.

In the relegation fight, Veracruz remained in last place in the Tabla de Cociente despite their 2-1 victory against Monarcas Morelia, while relegation rivals Atlas also won and Puebla and Querétaro lost.

Pachuca vs Cruz Azul – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

Pachuca snapped their three-game losing streak with an emphatic 4-0 victory against Cruz Azul. The result brings La Máquina’s season-long unbeaten streak to an abrupt halt and leaves them winless on the road in four.

The visitors started the game off well, with Ángel Mena and Édgar Méndez attacking down the wings, but Pachuca weathered the early storm and then struck to open the scoring in the 16th minute.

Necaxa vs Querétaro – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

Necaxa extended their home unbeaten streak to four games with a 0-1 victory against Querétaro. The result extends the Gallos Blancos’ losing streak to three games and leaves them winless in six.

The first half was an intense affair, with both Querétaro and Necaxa pushing forward with intent. Tiago Volpi and Marcelo Barovero were both called into action to preserve the scoreline, and despite a number of attempts by both teams, the game remained 0-0 at halftime.

Toluca vs Pumas UNAM – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

Pumas UNAM took the lead but couldn’t hold it as Toluca came back for a 2-1 victory. The result leaves the universitarios winless in six – and winless on the road this season – while the Diablos Rojos remain unbeaten at home.

The visitors started the game off well and they had their first good chance in the 9th minute. Gerardo Alcoba out-jumped his defender but couldn’t find the net with his header. They had another chance soon afterwards through Abraham González, whose attempt went just over the bar.

León vs América – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

América took the lead but couldn’t hold it as León scored twice in the final four minutes to earn a 2-1 win. The result extends La Fiera’s winning streak to three games while leaving the Águilas winless in two.

Both teams came out looking to score from the opening whistle and the first chance of the game came in the first minute. Andrés Mosquera cut the ball back for Luis Montes, but his shot went just wide.

Tijuana vs Tigres UANL – Jornada 11 Recap and Highlights

Tigres UANL earned their first road victory of the season with a 0-1 win against Tijuana. The result keeps the universitarios unbeaten in five, while snapping the Xolos’ own six-game unbeaten run.

Tigres had the first chance in the 5th minute, but Gibrán Lajud made a good save on André-Pierre Gignac, and as time wore on the hosts began to have the better of the run of play. Tijuana came close at least three times, but Nahuel Guzmán was alert to the danger.
