The standout suspension goes to Nicolás Sánchez of Monterrey, who will miss the next two games due to serious foul play, while Paul Aguilar of América was given a one-game suspension for the same reason.

In the relegation fight, Veracruz remained last with their 2-0 loss to Monarcas Morelia, while relegation rivals Lobos BUAP also lost, Querétaro drew, and Atlas won. Puebla is now mathematically assured of safety.
Santos Laguna remained top of the table with a 3-2 victory against Monterrey. The result is a third straight win for the Laguneros, who remain unbeaten at home this season, while the Rayados have now lost two in a row and three of their last four.
The game started off perfectly for Monterrey before going off the rails. The visitors took the lead in just the 2nd minute, when Rogelio Funes Mori’s shot from outside the box beat Jonathan Orozco with the help of a deflection off Jorge Villafaña to make it 0-1.
A late own-goal gave Toluca a 0-1 away win against Pumas UNAM. The result is a fourth straight victory for the Diablos Rojos while the universitarios suffered their second consecutive loss and are now winless in five.
Pumas could get little going in attack as Nicolás Castillo and Matías Alustiza looked disconnected from the rest of the team while a well-organized Toluca back line easily cut out the few opportunities the hosts created.
América had the better of the chances early on, with Cecilio Domínguez trying his luck in the 7th minute, although Guillermo Burdisso was able to block the shot. León, meanwhile, struggled to generate much in the final third with the absences of Mauro Boselli and Elías Hernández.
Tigres UANL earned a 1-0 victory against 10-man Tijuana. The result is a fourth straight win for the universitarios, who remain unbeaten in six, while the Xolos saw their three-game unbeaten streak halted as they remain winless on the road this season.
The hosts had the better of the run of play from the beginning, with Eduardo Vargas having a good chance to open the scoring in the 9th minute, only to send his shot wide. André-Pierre Gignac then tried his luck with a bicycle kick in the 34th minute, but Gibrán Lajud was able to make the save.
Necaxa took the lead but couldn’t hold it as Querétaro came back for a 1-1 draw. The result keeps the Gallos Blancos unbeaten in two – but still winless at home this season – while the Rayos are now winless in three.
The visitors started the game off brightly and repeatedly tested Tiago Volpi, but it wasn’t until the second half that Necaxa was able to open the scoring.
The visitors took the lead in just the 5th minute. José Juan Macías controlled the ball in the box, turned, and fired; goalkeeper Jorge Villalpando got his hands to the ball but couldn’t redirect it as it went into the net to give Chvias the 0-1 advantage.
Cruz Azul got their first home win of the season in style with a comprehensive 5-0 victory against Pachuca. The result snaps an eight-game winless streak for La Máquina, while the Tuzos have now lost two in a row.
The night started perfectly for the hosts, who went ahead in just the 3rd minute through Walter Montoya, who was played in by Édgar Méndez. Montoya got past Alexis Peña and then shot past Alfonso Blanco to make it 1-0 for Cruz Azul.
