Clausura 2019 Copa MX: Week 6 Standings & Statistics

The group stage of the Clausura 2019 edition of the Copa MX wrapped up this week with the sixth round of games.

It was a balanced slate of results this week, with three home wins, three away wins, and three draws. Four of the victors were Liga MX teams and the other two were from Ascenso MX.

Clausura 2019 Copa MX Week 6: Where to Watch

The Clausura 2019 Copa MX tournament continues this week with the sixth and final round of group stage games.

The group stage consists of six rounds of games, with each team playing four matches. The winner of each group, along with the seven best runners-up, will then advance to the knockout rounds.

Disciplinary Report: Clausura 2019 Week 6

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended two players in the aftermath of this weekend’s games.

Monarcas Morelia had filed a petition of non-conformity regarding the red card given to Gabriel Achilier, but the petition did not proceed and he was given a one-game suspension for receiving two yellow cards in one game.

Lampos Kontogiannis of Veracruz was given a one-game suspension for the same reason.

Monterrey remained in first place with their 4-0 win against Lobos BUAP, while Querétaro remained last after their 0-2 loss to Pumas UNAM.

Monterrey and Necaxa both remain unbeaten, while Veracruz and Querétaro remain winless, with Querétaro the only team yet to record a point.

In the relegation standings, Veracruz remained in last place in the Tabla de Cociente with their loss while relegation rival Lobos also lost.

Santos Laguna vs Tijuana – Jornada 6 Recap and Highlights

Tijuana took the lead but couldn’t hold it as Santos Laguna came back for a 1-1 draw. The result keeps the Laguneros unbeaten at home this season, but winless in two overall, while the Xolos are unbeaten in two.

The visitors started the game off better, with Santos struggling to get into a rhythm. Gustavo Bou had the first chance of the game with a shot from outside the box that went just wide; the Xolos continued to press, and in the 19th minute they took the lead.

Toluca vs Cruz Azul – Jornada 6 Recap and Highlights

Cruz Azul took the lead but couldn’t hold it as Toluca came back for a 1-1 draw. The result snaps a three-game losing streak for the Diablos Rojos, but keeps them winless in four, while La Máquina remain winless in two.

The game started off at an energetic pace, with both teams looking to get back to winning ways. The first notable chance came for the visitors when Adrián Aldrete sent a dangerous cross in, but no one could get on the end of it.

Necaxa vs Chivas de Guadalajara – Jornada 6 Recap and Highlights

In a wild game where both teams had the lead at one time or another, a stoppage-time goal saw Necaxa draw 3-3 with Chivas de Guadalajara. The result keeps the Rayos unbeaten this season – but winless at home in two – while el Rebaño remains unbeaten in two but winless in three.

Chivas came out attacking as they looked to get back to winning ways, and they found several early chances. Alexis Vega and Alan Pulido both had opportunities, but couldn’t truly threaten Hugo González’s goal.

Pachuca vs Monarcas Morelia – Jornada 6 Recap and Highlights

Pachuca remained perfect at home this season with a 2-0 victory against 10-man Monarcas Morelia. The result keeps the Tuzos unbeaten in three, while the michoacanos have now lost two in a row and remain winless on the road in the Clausura.

The first half was a hard-fought affair with more fouls than goal-scoring opportunities. Neither team could take control and the most notable chance of the half didn’t come until the very end of it, when Miguel Sansores forced a good save out of Alfonso Blanco.

América vs León – Jornada 6 Recap and Highlights

León ended América’s perfect home record with a comfortable 0-3 away win. The result is a third straight victory for La Fiera, while the Águilas have now lost two of their last three.

The visitors started the game off strongly and took the lead in the 12th minute. Agustín Marchesín made a good save on a free kick, but Ángel Mena kept the rebound in play and sent the ball to the back post, where José Macías volleyed it home to make it 0-1.

Querétaro vs Pumas UNAM – Jornada 6 Recap and Highlights

Pumas UNAM earned their first win of the Clausura 2019 with a 0-2 away win against Querétaro. The result is a sixth-straight loss for the Gallos Blancos, while the universitarios are now unbeaten in two.

The visitors took control of the game early on, enjoying more possession and looking dangerous in attack. Pablo Barrera was particularly active in the offensive third, and his persistence paid off in the 16th minute when his shot from outside the box took a deflection and ended up in the back of the net to give UNAM the 0-1 lead.
