Pea և dumpling soup recipe

Ingredients (near a boiler. 5 l):

  • water
  • 500 g split peas
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 medium bows
  • 400-500 g smoked ribs or 1 smoked chicken thigh
  • 3-4 pieces. potatoes
  • salt to taste
  • fresh dill

For dumplings.

  • 1 chicken egg
  • 50 g sour cream
  • 60 g of flour
  • salt to taste

Cooking:

In the evening, rinse the peas and soak them in cold water. If you do not have time to infuse beforehand, add 1 teaspoon of soda to the peas, cover with boiling water and leave for 15-20 minutes. Wash the peas and make the soup.

Fill the prepared peas with cold water, add whole carrots, salt to taste. After boiling, cook on low heat, removing the foam.

After dismantling, add sliced ​​ribs or chicken legs after cutting into large pieces. Then add finely chopped onion. Boil for about 30-40 minutes.

Add the diced potatoes to the soup, continue cooking until cooked. Remove the carrot, leave it to cool a bit, then grate it and add it to the soup.

Make dumplings. To do this, mix all the ingredients, mix the dough well և, taking a teaspoon, add dumplings to the soup. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until all the dumplings are floating upwards.

Before serving, add finely chopped dill and, if necessary, salt.
